As a mother and content creator I not only feel called to share inspiration but I also feel that it’s just as important to uplift our community in sharing strategies and knowledge to help others build a solid brand.

As I reflected upon the title of this post, I first thought about covering the importance of entrepreneurship, by mentioning points of how our world and technology is vastly improving and gaining intelligence each day. In fact in a matter of years I envision that our world will soon be what we have always imagined our future to appear. As you all know we are currently living in what I would just call a “glimpse of our future”. In today’s world we are not surprised to  see people  behind the wheel of self driving cars, talking on touch screen phones, and in a few years  we may even be walking beside human size robots. I believe these robots will eventually be designed so highly intelligent that they will be allowed to walk among us and maybe even be trusted well enough to be in the driver seat one day. Aside from  regular everyday citizens being handlers of these very large devices, Major companies and retailers will  of course find these robots to be  huge investments and accommodations towards their companies. In result this may in fact lead to the highest unemployment rate, due to the fact that robots need little to no pay to take care of the same responsibilities that almost any average employee can do. In the long run I see robots as a blessing and a curse because not only will they be able to make life easier for many but they may also make us lazier than we are now in return.  This slightly inaccurate theory is one reason why I think entrepreneurs are important today,  but the other reason is personal. I’ll began with a story about me at the age of 12 with my two sisters. Like any other preteen with her sisters we would always revisit the conversation about how we envisioned our life would be as “grown ups”. Besides us all having freedom from what seemed to be limitless rules and boundaries instructed by our parents. Like all my sisters, I in particular had imagined my dream life out perfectly with precisely every detail. I wanted a really tall husband with beautiful black complexion, whom also happened be very romantic and also kept me grounded just as I did for him. To make it a combo I wanted two kids  a boy and a girl. While also having them strapped nice and snug in the back of my newest Range Rover or a Jeep. We would all be sleeping  nice and well in our cabin which had a nice overlook in the mountains. To enjoy and afford this lavish life I wanted to be none other than a stay at home mom  and owner of a multi million dollar business. What a life  that could be. In reality and as of today I’m flabbergasted that I’m  even a wife to the handsome man I always dreamed of being with, a  mother to the daughter I always wanted to nurture, and my business is still like a little baby but I love it so much. I say all this to say that entrepreneurship is not just important because it makes ends meet it is important because it allows me to tap into the idea of  accomplishing the dreams you wished upon when you were still very much a child. Secondly, it gives you a spark of  freedom, individuality, and belonging which  may even encourage your peers and others around you to jump on the wave of becoming an entrepreneur their-self. Finally on vast levels entrepreneurs across the globe are causing a positive change whether it be social  or innovative.

1. You Will Accomplish Your Inner Child’s Dreams

For the past 3 years I’ve failed and attempted on becoming an entrepreneur, and it finally began to stick last year. I laugh every time I think about how I began. My first search of  becoming an entrepreneur literally started on google. Google has always been one of  my best friend s because it gave me reliable answers and sources to most of my questions. That was at least until I began looking up ways entrepreneurs make money. That was of course the wrong way in so many ways, so if anyone happens to be inspired to be an entrepreneur one day don’t follow the get rich quick methods I’ve already tried it, and in reality google really has no search results for that unless you enjoy doing 30 minute surveys for little to no pay. Instead stick with knowing and finding who you truly are, find out what you love, and most of all know what you love to do. In that single essence of bliss is the true pot of gold, because that is where you can find inspiration to make products that you will truly love and enjoy selling. Plus who would want to by something from  a person who doesnt enjoy using their own product. Every time I write or work on my craft it makes me feel youthful and apart of something. I guarantee you every time I work on a project I love, it suddenly feels like the whole world has stopped so I could indulge in that very moment of creation

2. You Will Influence Your Peers

Before I turned 18 I envisioned life on my own simple. I just thought that life would go the way I wanted it to be, but that’s not exactly how life went. In the real world life consisted of responsibilities which was primarily taken care of buy the checks you get from your job. Lets not forget that you also have to pay your rent, utilities, car maintenance, and if your not responsible enough you may even get those ridiculous late fees. After each two weeks I was not surprised to be left with little to nothing from paying the cost of all my responsibilities. At my first job I was of course paid minimum wage as an embroider aka  someone who designs personal logos or business logos for apparel. At this job I had the opportunity to meet many successful people. What really caught my attention was meeting an successful entrepreneur that was pretty much the same as me. From the very beginning I was rooting for her to keep doing her thing and striving for her best. In the matter of what almost seemed to be a year she came from being department manager to owning her own business. I was so happy that I was encouraged to start my own business I mean why not? I would be able  to travel anywhere I wanted to go without asking for days off. Instead of making hourly wages I would be making nearly 100% profit off of each product I sold, and most of all I would  have freedom because I didn’t have a boss to answer to. Just like that I dove in and took a chance, and  thank goodness I found my chance.

3. You Will Help to Create a Positive Change In the World

Every entrepreneur I know from Shameless Maya and Oprah Winfrey to Steve Jobs. Most of these entrepreneurs have intentionally created a wave of positive change and motive. After I became an entrepreneur you come to self-realization that this is what life is about. It is about creating something to share, because sharing is caring. The real motive that we all share is the fact that,  life is meant to be cherished because it goes by so fast and in reality no one really wants to be working a nine to five just to miss those little moments of their child growing up or even worst staring at the clock waiting for the last hour of their shift. Life is meant to be enjoyed. If  anyone had an option to do anything for pay. They would do what they love to do. I’m not talking about just watching movies or listening to music. I won’t get on the topic that  many corporations invest millions of dollars to distract people from  doing what they love to do let alone boredom. Im talking about your gift, your craft, or whatever you may call it. God has bless us all with many unique gifts, and surprisingly the reason was for you to share them. That gift itself is a positive change and motive.
I write this post today not to just encourage  you to be  an entrepreneur, nor to put fear in you by saying robots will take your job. Instead I  write this to  encourage you to take a chance on yourself and invest in your happiness so you can establish wealth for your future one day. Its time for us all to learn to reign together as king and queens and lift each other up and realize that no matter how small we may feel that sometimes it may take for us to get our blessings to spark a belief in order for people around us to realize that they can get their very own blessings too. Like every other entrepreneur we don’t want to do this alone we want  to create a positive change and enjoy life together.
Peace and Love,
Mami Kelviana
