How to Grow into 2020: A Tribute to Juneteenth

There is no better day to post for the first time in the year of  2020 than the day of Juneteenth. Surprisingly with all the stuff going on in the world. I can honestly say I’m more grateful now than any time before.

Because as I remember all of our ancestors who sacrificed their life for us. I am constantly remember so many things our ancestors were never even allowed to do that we are more than capable to do today. I’m grateful to write, to read, and the freedom of speech because what would self expression be without those three things.

So today, Although Juneteenth is not an official holiday  for many lets take time to remember our ancestors by being grateful for the things we are able to do in today’s world, because America wasn’t built on our ancestors backs just so we could turn around and be ungrateful. So before I give my opinion about how fast 2020 is making the world spin let’s talk about where I been and why I have been gone.

because I know this is the subject we all must talk about AGAIN. Well to began I’ve been finding more effective ways to expand my brand and been pushing self care out in the world because you know we all need more than a little self care in these treacherous times. But here’s the thing, I’ve actually started setting up shop at a popular market in my hometown . Do you remember those self care products I talked about giving birth to in my last post. Yeah! I’m talking about the products you can actually purchase online in my online store now. Well I also began putting myself out there and began engaging with others by selling those same products at local markets near me. It has been so much fun to actually meet new people that have been interested in my product, but more importantly it has been even more interesting in meeting people who have been keeping up with my post. And It never fails, every single time I run into each and every one of y’all. Y’all say “I’ve been reading your post, when are you going to write another one?”, and I say the same thing everytime “ I’m a one man team. Im the business owner, the employee, the editor in chief, the journalist, the teacher, the student and always a MAMI”

So that’s where life has been taking me. I am slowly becoming the “mamitrepreneur” Now enough about me. Lets talk about 2020 and how’s it “growing” for you guys.

1. Is it time for us to get a little self care in 2020 or what?

It’s been pretty tense huh?

. So lets just all agree and say that the world and the humans that are living on it are having a huge growth spurt. We all need some time to relax, reflect, and to practice way more self care than just a pump of hand sanitizer. I’ve been seeing way too many people post on social media crying way too much after self sabotaging themselves by constantly turning on the news and watching the same tragic news day after day. I mean come on I thought we learned that most journalist and reporters beg for attention by posting negative stories already. So just as much time as we take to watch the news lets spend more time taking effective action and better care for ourselves. Buy first pampering ourselves, then speaking positively about ourselves, and finally being the effective change we wish to see in our communities.

2. Are you tired of reminding them why Our Lives Matter, Or do we need to just remember who we are?

At such a time as this when the world is at an eery standstill because of a virus. We as people are able to still come together and make the world more uncomfortable than what it is already now. That we resulted in effectively pushing our country’s leaders to  create change within the federal and state laws and even more find out who still has a petty issue over skin color. Even more, this just so happens to be the year that we as people are fed up and enough is simply just enough. What a time to be alive to be a witness of this all. But let’s be honest, as we beg for change to put the authority in prison to get the justice we deserve. We must remember the change we must fix within black America before we can change America. As African-American’s Our poverty rate is high, Our health risk is high, and most of us are still mentally enslaved only because most of us  still believe African history only began once our ancestors were brought here on a boat in shackles. If we are to truly be united we should all be able to come to sit at a the table along with various races and ethinicities and be able to have as much knowledge to talk about our Moorish history just as the Greeks would be able to discuss the Spartans, and the Mexicans can talk about the Mayans. Let’s stop allowing others to define who we are and learn for ourselves by understanding that we are kings and queens just as many others races once were. Then that’s when we will know we are capable,  that’s when we will stop strategizing like we are less than, and more importantly that will be when we stop asking for change and instead we will make our own change. We are all savages of respectable  and great kings and queens. Many of us just may have forgotten who we really descended from. So today lets challenge ourselves not to just remember the people who were enslaved in America that looked just like us, but to also remember the people who looked like us and stilled ruled and reigned great natios. Happy Juneteenth you all!

Peace, Love, and Blessings
