Fear – an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.

Fear has come toward me many times as I have continued to strive for my dreams than any other time in my life. This emotion has tried numerous times to make me feel incapable, unworthy, and misguided about many opportunities and stepping stones I’ve experience this past year. In fact, to be brutally honest with you, fear is simply just an illusion to me, and if you were to tap into the delusion that fear gives off it could  be manipulative and mind twisting in only ways that you can only imagine. So if you continue to brave (like me) and not fall into fear’s trap then you will be able to accomplish your dreams and/or meet your goals. For example, about two days ago I saw this picture:

This image depicted fear and the proximity toward Goals or Dreams so accurately. I feel as though FEAR is intentionally put into place  to take you out of your COMFORT ZONE  so you can LEARN new skills and GROW into finding purpose and set new goals. Which is why I feel that I must give you three reasons why overcoming your fear is important to your dreams.

Reason #1: Fear Only Allows You to Imagine The Worst Scenario Possible

I’m gonna share a little secret with you all. Here it goes!

Before I press submit on any post I allow myself to have a 30 second panic attack by thinking of the worst things that could happen at that very moment. Which means I intentionally invite fear in and I think about the worst scenarios. I ask myself questions such as: Does my post have so many grammatic errors that it sounds gibberish? Is my topic an irrelevant point? Worst of all, what if I have a hater or someone who just picks on me just because they don’t like me? v

I know it might sound crazy, but I manipulate myself like that because most of the time it relieves me from the unrealistic negativity and it also reminds me of how unrealistic fear is to me. Because if any of these three situations happened realistically there’s only one thing I can do, and that’s to try my best to resolve the problem. Even if the problem can’t be resolved it’s not the end of the world but instead a lesson for me to learn from. So anytime you imagine the worst scenario just take a breath and know that everything will be just fine.

Reason #2 Fear Creates Excuses to Prevent you from Meeting your Goal

I’m not sure if I should call it excuses or procrastination, but lately I’ve been catching myself making a few of them. Since I’ve gained a few pounds during the holidays I’ve been working out pretty consistently to try to get back in shape for spring. Fortunately I am beginning to see some nice results which is very rewarding, but sometimes I can get lured into skipping a few days of working out and eating a few extra servings.

Lol I never said I was perfect, but I say all this to say we sometimes try to cheat our way into meeting our goals by making excuses, and somehow end up right where we started with one to many excuses. So its very crucial for us to keep our integrity and self-discipline in order for us to stop making excuses and meet our goals.

Reason #3 Fear’s mission is to keep you from moving forward

Fear can either make you or break you. No matter what your choice is the fact still remains that we still will have to face our fears to meet our goals. When I first came up with this reason I always thought of this quote by Thomas Carly that says,

“Nothing stops the man who desires to achieve. Every obstacle is simply a course to develop his achievement muscle. It’s a strengthening of his powers of accomplishment.”

I’m not sure what you may want or are striving to accomplishment at this moment, but if you really want it nothing can stop you not even fear can cease you from moving forward. In the mist of each one of your fear there’s a obstacle put into place so that you must learn or acquire those skills needed to meet your goal.

Fears objective is to constantly try to remind you of what you aren’t so that it could push you so hard that you can recall who you are and what you are capable of.

The irony of fear sometimes is that you can learn the biggest life changing lessons at your weakest points.

When we have fears  we have two choice to either run from it or face it like a warrior. Personally, I choose to face my fears because it always helps me to come out stronger on the other end. Is it easy to face your fear’s? Not all the time, in fact sometimes it can get so hard that I have to dwell in the presence and embrace the emotion and feeling of it. At the end of each day I will always get up and fight through the illusional fog that tries to lead me astray with clear intentions of never letting fear get in the way of the things I want and strive for in life. So,  there’s no reason you shouldn’t either?

Peace and Love,

Mami Kelviana
