If you’re a 4C natural like me then you may understand that curl defining cream is just as important as shampoo and conditioner. What are twist outs and braid outs without curl defining cream. If  you guessed puffy, then your right. Instead of buying your curl defining cream from the store next time, just save more money on hair products and try making this curl defining cream. Fortunately, this curl defining cream calls for only three ingredients: shea butter, coconut oil, and aloe vera gel. Below I will give a brief description of how these ingredients benefit your hair.

Shea Butter

This thick smoky smelling butter comes from a shea tree in West Africa and is extracted from the trees seeds.  This butter oil is used to soften the hair strands, massage the scalp, and protect the hair from UV rays.

Coconut Oil

This popular oil comes from the islands of Southeast Asia  and is extracted from the meat of the coconut. It is rich in anti-microbial properties, lauric acid, and fatty acids which helps to strengthen hair, condition the scalp, and helps with regrowing your hair.

Aloe Vera Gel

This gel comes from aloe vera plants which is widely known to grow wild in tropical climates. The gel is extracted from the fleshy parts of the aloe vera plant leaf. This gel has a vast majority of amino acids and proteolytic enzymes which helps  improve scalp health and boost hair growth.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of shea butter

2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

Directions:

  1. Melt the shea butter till it becomes a liquid consistency
  2. Mix the remaining ingredients together with the shea butter
  3. Pour the cream into a container and place it in the refrigerator until the mixture forms into a creamy consistency
  4. Apply to hair and style your hair as desired
